Join Us in Conserving Arizona’s Wildlife for Future Generations
On the stunning landscapes of Arizona, over 820 wildlife species call this vibrant region home. Although, we face significant challenges such as diminishing water resources and fragmented habitats, the passion of Arizona’s outdoor enthusiasts can ignite meaningful change for our wildlife.
Wildlife for Tomorrow (WFT) is uniquely equipped to tackle these urgent conservation issues through our special collaboration with the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD). WFT serves a crucial role in financially supporting the AZGFD, which does not receive any state general fund tax dollars. As the official nonprofit fundraising arm of the AZGFD, WFT provides essential funding that directly contributes to the conservation, health, and sustainability of Arizona's wildlife.
Our initiatives are fueled by the unwavering support of passionate individuals and partners who believe in the transformative power of conservation. WFT focuses on the following four core fundraising pillars for AZGFD:
Outdoor Heritage: Connecting Individuals through recreational programming and improved land access, encouraging everyone to explore and enjoy Arizona’s stunning landscapes.
Wildlife Education: Connecting individuals to wildlife through educational experiences that illuminate the unique species that call Arizona home, fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Wildlife Conservation: Actively working to conserve Arizona’s diverse wildlife and habitats.
Stewardship & Community Engagement: Building a strong network of volunteers who are instrumental in driving conservation initiatives and fostering community involvement.
Send Water to Wildlife
AZGFD maintains 3,000 wildlife watering sites, including artificial catchments strategically located throughout the state. These vital resources provide essential hydration for a diverse range of wildlife year-round.
This endeavor is no small feat. Annually, it costs over $1 million for the AZGFD and its partners to supply water to these locations, with some of the most isolated sites requiring helicopter access. Since AZGFD does not benefit from general fund tax dollars, they depend on conservation advocates to help cover expenses for vehicle maintenance, new trailers, and the repair and upkeep of catchments.
