Send Water to Wildlife

AZGFD maintains 3,000 wildlife watering sites, including artificial catchments strategically located throughout the state. These vital resources provide essential hydration for a diverse range of wildlife year-round.

This endeavor is no small feat. Annually, it costs over $1 million for the AZGFD and its partners to supply water to these locations, with some of the most isolated sites requiring helicopter access. Since AZGFD does not benefit from general fund tax dollars, they depend on conservation advocates to help cover expenses for vehicle maintenance, new trailers, and the repair and upkeep of catchments.
