Community Day is a special opportunity to explore our outdoor classroom, discover the habitat that makes this site unique, and get a firsthand look at the environmental education program we provide to students throughout the season.
Throughout the morning, Mesquite Wildlife Oasis Educators will guide community members through a series of hands-on lessons and activities tied directly to the surrounding habitat. You’ll learn about desert ecology, wildlife, water, and the incredible adaptations that help plants and animals thrive in Arizona.
Come Ready to Explore!
Mesquite Wildlife Oasis is a rustic outdoor learning environment, not a traditional classroom or developed park. The site includes dirt paths, uneven ground, natural vegetation, ponds, and limited amenities.
Community Day is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities, but participants should be comfortable spending the morning outdoors and walking on natural, uneven terrain.
Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, dress for the weather, bring water, and be prepared to get a little dirty.
This is a hands-on day of exploring, learning, and enjoying the outdoors — exactly the way Mesquite Wildlife Oasis is meant to be experienced.
